Staff report from Lake Camanche – January 15th, 2015
Lake Camanche is inching up…now 33% full. Current elevation is 188.27 as of 1/13/15.
Reported pond baits this week were: Willy Biggly and Black Bass jig.
Trout anglers on the lake reported power eggs, green power bait, rainbow runner, rapala behind a sling blade, Thomas Bouynants and a homemade fly.
No bass anglers reported this week but an angler after trout caught a 2 lb bass with a hot steel rapala.
Kia caught this big trout weighing in at 10.27 lbs out of the pond last Sunday 1/11/15 using what she reposted as Willy Biggly. This places Kia with the largest trout so far for 2015 and puts her in the running to win a 2016 annual pass. (photo shared by Ivan Vong)
Wayne Myrick of Acampo and friends Brent & Christian reeled in all these trout on 1/3/15. They reported that they were fishing the lake and using green power bait. Total 18.5 lbs!
Daren Craner of Rio Vista snagged this 9.78 lb lunker out of the pond on 1/1/15 using a black bass jig.
1,200 lbs of Mt. Lassen Trout arrived Tuesday 1/13/15 and was planted at North shore ramp. Another 1,200 lbs of trout are scheduled for the South shore pond and SS ramp next week.
Lake Camanche is currently at 32% full with fluctuating releases from Lake Pardee. Still no speed restrictions on open water at Lake Camanche but caution is always required for your safety.
No “on-lake” fueling. Gasoline is only available at the South Shore store gas station.
